Yayasan Dana Bantuan

Relationship with Hotel: For the last three years, Park Hyatt Jakarta has supported Yayasan Dana Bantuan by delivering employability training sessions, donating in-kind items for the non-profit’s use and participating in school visits.

NGO mission: Yayasan Dana Bantuan’s mission is to improve the welfare of under-resourced people with health and education support.

Grant purpose: Indonesia is the fourth largest country by population and 17^th largest economy in the world. This means the size of its hospitality sector is incredibly large, and as a result, has the capacity to provide a plethora of jobs to under-resourced youth in the country.

 

Yayasan Dan Bantuan supports the students at Vocation High School for Hospitality (SMK) in Cisarua, West Java. Students in this region face numerous to obtaining meaningful work in the hospitality sector. These barriers include no practical experience in hospitality, the distance between Cisarua from Jakarta adding additional expenses such as transportation and accommodation, and a lack of English language skills.

 

Thanks to Hyatt Community Grant funded by Hyatt, 10 students received English language courses and stipends to reduce barriers for participation in the on-the-job training. Students also participated in an excursion to see the hospitality sector in-person.
