Transforming the lives of youth with disabilities
Youth 4 Jobs’ vision is a hands-on, grass-roots transformation of the lives of persons with disability at the country level and emerging as a thought leader at the global level. It has chosen to work in the challenging but high impact space of hiring youth with disabilities in corporate India. Y4J has a brick and mortar presence in 32 locations in 14 states of India ranging from tier-2 towns to metros focusing on persons with disability employability/employment.
In the past six years, Y4J has trained 13,500 young men and women with disability. Thirty percent of the trainees are girls with disabilities. It has touched more than 250,000 households in advocacy. The organization works closely with nearly 500 companies of which 200 are first-time persons with disabilities hirers. It also brings out industry specific reports on inclusion with partners like Boston Consulting Globe. The work has received both national and international awards.
Park Hyatt Hyderabad is also committed to hospitality and service and wants to cater opportunities to the local community, that’s why the hotel had partnered with Youth 4 Jobs’ through the Hyatt Community Grants program. Park Hyatt Hyderabad had already provided employment. Youth4Jobs and Park Hyatt will design a special training program for various job roles in the hospitality industry. On completion of the same, the attendees will be certified which would facilitate them to get more job opportunities within the same sector. The Hyatt Community Grant will be used to train young men and women with disability and place them in jobs across Hyatt and other Hotels and restaurants in India.
