From Juanfe Foundation to Cook 2 at Hyatt Regency Cartagena

Estefani never imagined that motherhood at 15 would be the propeller to a life she thought to be impossible. Motivated by a friend of hers, Estefani decided to apply at the Juanfe Foundation, which helps young mothers living in extreme poverty and vulnerability, transform their reality by creating educational and employment opportunities, and giving them a space where they can learn about different dependencies such as hospitality, beauty, among others.

At the foundation, she learned about hospitality, cooking, emotional support, and was motivated to move forward, recover her value, self-esteem, and discovered her passion how talented and smart she is. Estefani was then chosen to be a part of the Imagina Project where 4 young mothers participated in internships held in Hyatt Regency Cartagena.

During this time, Estfani discovered her true self, her talent, and more importantly, she demonstrated to herself and to everyone that did not believe in her at first, that she is capable of achieving anything she sets her mind to.

Today, Estefani is an important part of the Hyatt Regency Cartagena’s Amacagua restaurant team.

Today Estefany is a Kitchen assistant at the Amacagua restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Cartagena. Not only does she demonstrate her conviction and her desire be better every day through her impeccable work, but she has also become a source of inspiration for many of the Hotel's associates thanks to her empowerment and strength.
