Professional Skills Development Library
Through our curated professional skills development library, Hyatt colleagues, including those at franchised hotels, have free access to 8,600 learning assets to grow their skills and advance their careers. The library includes articles, microlearning lessons, podcasts, self-paced courses, TED talks and more. In 2022, 11,000 colleagues completed 41,000 courses. Among the most popular topics were related to DE&I and wellbeing. In addition, the library also provides access to role-specific training programs and discounted access to eCornell’s accredited hospitality course catalog.
People Playbook
Hyatt’s People Playbooks equips leaders with support, resources, and guidance to cultivate a culture of care in the workplace. Lessons are designed for Hyatt senior and mid-level leaders as well as aspiring leaders looking to improve their skills. Educational resources are offered in four languages.
General Manager Development Programs
Properties across Asia-Pacific and the Americas, such as Grand Hyatt Singapore and Hyatt Regency Santa Clara (California), piloted refreshed mentor-mentee programs to support colleagues’ professional growth and pathways to management positions with virtual workshops, peer learning modules, and hotel visits.
In the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region, Hyatt’s well-established General Manager Development program aims to support the growth of high-potential talent, giving participants a structured framework to organize learning and development. Participants receive access to valuable resources, learning and assessment tools, expert webinars and a program coach who offers guidance and a tailored professional development plan. The program also offers continued empowerment opportunities for participating general managers, including a mentorship program pairing participating colleagues with Hyatt senior leadership.
Supporting Personal and Professional Growth
Hyatt supports colleagues who take initiative in expanding their own personal and professional development. On-property colleagues are encouraged to bring in leaders, experts, and professionals to learn more about topics that interest them.
For example, Alila Solo (Indonesia) welcomed a holistic health practitioner to share tips with colleagues on supporting mind, body, and spirit to bring their fullest self to work.
